PAUL GOGLY "HAPPY COVENANT" 21—30.09.2023
This art project, begun in 2021, begins in the streets where the artist collects the remains of graffiti erased during his long wanderings. This project reveals much more than just erased tags, it unveils a beauty hidden in their gradual disappearance, transforming the act of cleaning into an involuntary art form. Colors fade, contours soften, and the city becomes an ephemeral abstract art museum. This process is repeated in the artist's canvases, which create layers of mutating colors, merging an urban past with a contemporary vision. Happy Chance symbolizes the transience of urban life and the persistence of human creativity, reminding us that art can leave a lasting mark even when it is destined to disappear, thus celebrating its constant transformation and its power to transcend the limits of time and space.
